To code an earlier model of the above you need a special USB-OBD cable and a USB-OTG cable for your Android device - please check if your Android has the USB OTG capability - while most new devices are all capable of USB-OTG. While the above models can all be diagnosed via Bluetooth-OBD connection, only the models after 03/2007 can be coded with the BT-adapter.
Since iPhone/Apple does not allow for USB communication as required, the older BMW models like E46, etc can not be diagnosed with iPhone either. iPhone does not yet support the required USB communicationįor the coding functions of the app, which are still in Beta-Test, (so they are free!) - they will work with models after 03/2007, since the earlier models require a cable connection for coding - while they can still be diagnosed via WIFI-OBD connection The following BMW modells were successfully tested with the in-depth BMWhat diagnosis:įor Android: E46, E39, E83 and other older BMW models, since this requires a USB OBD cable.
